Since we are well into 2018, I thought I'd share with you my favorite new products that I've stumbled upon since New Years Day. Being a student, employee, and intern all 7 days of the week and 24 hours of the day can take a hard toll on your skin. Especially, when you're still getting used to a new schedule and daily stressors that come with it. So, I've chosen a few products that have helped me get used to things in 2018, so far.
In 2018,my days are filled to the brim with meetings and tasks that require me to be my best and therefore look my best. In this regard, I have found myself wearing makeup everyday and also taking it off at night so my skin can breathe. I'm pretty picky about my makeup removers; I usually just try to wash it all off with cleanser ( Glossier's Milk Jelly Cleanser does a fantastic job dissolving all makeup). But, if you wear water proof/resistant mascara like me, you know this isn't always the case. Simple's Kind to Skin Cleansing Micellar Water is perfect for those black rings of mascara under your eyes that cleanser won's take care of. It's also an amazing toner to swipe over your skin after washing. It will pick up any left over makeup, toxins, or dirt from the day leftover in your pores. It's rumored to be the secret to the silky, sensual French skin that can be found on any mademoiselle in your vicinity.
I have tried multiple brow gels, and I have finally found once worth the trouble of purchasing. I received a free sample of HOURGLASS' Arch Brow in "warm brunette" from Influenster and I am in L-O-V-E. As I have said in the past, even though Boybrow is Glossier's bestseller, I don't get the hype. The product in relation to its longevity wasn't worth the money; and honestly it's more of a travel item. The Arch Brow gel is small but pacts a lot of pigment and product into the tube. The metallic packing is chic and modern. The highlight of the gel has to be the double wand, one side being short and the other long for those whisper hairs towards the front of the brow. The longer side is also great for those days when you don't have time to do a full face, and just want to brush back with that and then use the shorter end to color in. If you're looking for a good eyebrow gel, this is it.
In 2018, I have vowed that I will take time for face masks. They're a great reward for yourself when your done for the day and a good way to destress as well as exfoliate. This mask, for the price and results, is a must buy. The sugarcane and charcoal extracts everything our of my pore, exfoliates without drying out, and has a nice consistency. The best way to apply, is to use a foundation brush and paint it on! Using this 1-2 times a week makes a difference and relaxes my skin when I'm stressed out from school, internship duties, and general life events.
I received a sample of this through my Birchbox subscription and gave it a try without really expecting anything. I've found the this stuff really does let your skin breathe and repair any acne scarring. It's been great for my skin when I'm breaking out and trying to give my skin a break.
This is another product I received through Birchbox that truly expanded the way I use, think about, and prefer dry shampoo. If you truly live life on-the-go, then this needs to be in your purse at all times. Some things I immediately took notice of after using, was the pleasant smell and lack of white residue. Most dry shampoos smell powdery and leave a really thick white substance on roots, but the Death Valley spray is clear as can be. It's also a great texturizing spray- giving just a subtle tack to curls, braids, and unwashed hair.
